People in another thread were talking about famous alums, and I started wondering how Chicago people (adcoms and such) feel about Tucker Max. I think the guy’s an absolute genius and his movie is gonna be the ****, but I’m kinda curious how Ted O’Neill would feel if you included a T-Max reference in an essay-not that I would, I’m just wondering.

1) I’m sure you wouldn’t be the first person to say you want to go here because Tucker Max did.

2) My personal opinion on Mr. Max is that he’s a really bright person who knows how to turn regular old blogging into something funny and rofitable. (Tucker Max isn’t the only celebrity blogger alum; “Wonkette” is also a U of C alum).

Even though I’m not a fan of his persona, I’m very happy to count him as an alum. He’s clearly very, very, very smart, and I think he has a lot of control over his internet persona. I would be proud to have him as an alum the way I would be proud to have Lewis Black as an alum (but he belongs to UNC-Chapel Hill).
