Kind of a wild ride!!! 1460sat, valedictorian 4.9qpa/4.0gpa, class vp, two varsity sport, IB diploma, dual enrollment at PSU calc/bio, volunteer at VA, shadow the emergency room … and accepted to some top schools… we’d be full pay… and just wild wild process!!! Congrats to all those accepted (and man each time someone w/l or defer or one reject.. it stings… key is to remember there are other swim lanes to jump into).

NOTE : we didn’t have him to the interview… so probably failed the IQ test there… as that clearly demonstrates interest… but we just kind of slipped by that with all that was going on.

That’s kind of crazy… I’d think the “quirky” in a good way two time pianist would be a slam dunk

Stats?

Where are the WL too?

WashU, UNC, Notre Dame, and Tufts

102 W, 100 UW, valedictorian, 1520, pre med, strong EC and good essays, had a really great tufts interview as well

Rejected. 4.7 weighted GPA. 15 APs and all 5s with two 4s and one 3. No SAT. Found nonprofit that has extended to multiple countries and raised 100k+ from donation. 500+ volunteer hours and received presidents award. Dance competition and has won national champion twice in a row. First chair cellist in my local very competitive symphony. Teaches little children cello and math. Holds a US Patent and did a lot of research regarding my patent and products are currently under manufacturing. Willing to pay fully for the tuition.

I mean, I felt my son was pretty highly qualified so I was sad he was rejected, but this is downright crazy. I don’t get it anymore. Sorry to hear

Daughter accepted to Arts and Sciences. GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.6ish W; 10 APs through senior yr.; SAT: 1490 (790E/700M). ECs and essays reflected her genuine interests (writing, education) and leadership in those areas, but no national awards or anything crazy. She liked her Tufts essays because she thought they captured “her.”

Waitlisted for engineering. 4.0+UW/5.0W, NMF, Rank 1, 36 ACT, lots APs, strong ECs, etc. Not surprised. Won’t join waitlist as he has other acceptances he is happy with. However, looks like historically there is movement on the waitlist (maybe 10%).

S25 Accepted!! Was one of his top choices! Stats: 4.0 UW, all APs and Honors offered at his school. No SATs submitted. Strong LORs. Accomplished music artist in piano composition with distribution deal and significant spotify following. Other ECs in music but also varsity basketball and baseball and lots of leadership at school. Personal essays, related to his passion but also creatively well written. This was a total surprise! No info on financial aid yet so that will be a big part of this decision.

For future portal astrologists: The portal astrology from 2023 was proven incorrect in 2024, IMHO. My kid had the bogus signifiers for acceptance. – “withdraw” button gone while “self-report scores” button remaining – but she was, sadly, rejected.

Congratulations to those admitted. D25 was waitlisted which we are happy with since no one has every been admitted from her high school and only 2 or 3 have been waitlisted in previous years. Stats: 99.3 QPA UW, all classes honors or above, 3 APs (all 5s), dual enrolled in state university (no high school classes senior year), great ECs, leadership, volunteer. Requested interview but none available. Only thing she was really missing was alot of ECs in her choosen major as she changed her direction this past summer.

Tufts is a good spot. My D24 was admitted last year, but we ended up choosing a cheaper option, since Tufts was full pay.
