Sending me ads for their pre college program post rejection is just cruel honestly
LOL same.
Did anyone attend last weekâs Jumbo Day and can share when they received information about the dayâs schedule or agenda? Weâre registered for this Fridayâs Jumbo Day and havenât received anything yet.
Iâm standing here at my EE daughterâs graduation at Tufts and have such bitter feelings about Tufts, particularly the engineering department. Unless you get full tuition and housing paid, I would not recommend engineering at Tufts.
Could you say a little more about this? Tufts engineering is on my younger childâs maybe list.
My kid experienced little to no career development support or guidance - from the department, advisor, and career center. Professors never returned emails. Seemed like office hours were zoom, by appointment, infrequent. Maybe thatâs the way at all colleges now? Overall, Tufts seems disorganized, with communication coming at the last minute and incomplete.
Thank you for sharing this specific feedback, and Iâm so sorry to hear this. Tufts was one of the schools on our list, and we always struggled with trying to figure out the reality of things like strength of career advising or the housing situation. Itâs so helpful to get first-hand observations like this.
Thank you for sharing this. Iâm so sorry that your daughter had this experience; wishing her joy & success in this next stage.
Thank you for feedback. We toured and got a feeling that engineering programs were rising but not quite there yet. I hope its an upward trend for the university. Sorry to hear your kiddo didnât get the support they were hoping for.
Offering a counterpoint, but my son is in Engineering at Tufts (a rising Junior) and has had very positive experiences. We have three kids in college (at three different USNWR top 40 universities) and advising can be hit or miss everywhere. Our Tufts student has always gotten the classes he needs, and he knows and is known by all of his profs. He has attended in-person office hours for most of his classes, and profs and TAs have been responsive to emails. He has a great engineering internship this summer which he got through his own hustle - not through the Tufts career office (but that was also the experience of my other two college students at different universities, and I think it tends to be the nature of job seeking today through LinkedIn and other online platforms). Weâre full pay at Tufts and have no regrets, as the school has been a great fit for our Tufts engineer.
