o Vance Elementary Fall Festival – Volunteering in the conduction of the festival, leading student activities, and participating in fund-raising for the elementary classes.
• MANNA Food Bank:
o Packing and sorting food to be given to the homeless shelters and soup kitchens of WNC
o MANNA Food Drive – Organizing food drive and donating cans towards the cause.
• Eblen Charities - Fundraising to help adults and families in WNC who are battling the effects of illnesses and disabilities.<br>
• UNC Television - Facilitating and participating in the yearly event put on at the NC State Fair. Duties include handing out brochures and dressing up as characters from UNC TV’s cartoons.
• Animal Compassion Network – Promoting adoptions and caring for homeless animals in adoption events.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters: Spending time with underprivileged children to help build up confidence levels and provide extra attention in order to assure they feel supported and provided for.
• Habitat for Humanity: Helping build quality homes at affordable prices for those with demonstrated need.
• Oakley Elementary School Fundraisers – Donating gifts to underprivileged and at-risk children for the Christmas and Easter holidays.
• Salvation Army Canned Food Drive – Donating cans.
• Obama Campaign Volunteer – Door-to-door campaigning for the 2008 Presidential election.
• WNC Nature Center – Participating in educating children on nature and wildlife conservation as well as fundraising for the upkeep of the nature center’s facilities and the continuation of its events.
• YWCA: Circles of Hope – Cooking for and serving a group of underprivileged and displaced women at their bimonthly empowerment meetings. </p>
<p>Work Experience:
• Mathnasium (9 months) – Tutor (teaching and instructing elementary and middle school students who want to catch up, stay current, or get ahead in math).
• O’Charley’s (5 months) – Hostessing (customer relations, restaurant coordination and seating organization, cleaning restaurant facilities).
• Breans & Berries (June 2008 - present) – Barista/Cashier (customer relations, food/drink service, café cleanliness, cashier skills)
• Kaylynne’s Florist (7 months) – Florist’s Assistant (helping to maintain shop cleanliness, take care of flowers, and create floral arrangements).</p>
