Tufts in DC Freshman year?

OK, Tufts is a fine school, and I am thinking I might go there next year. However I am planning on majoring in polisci, and want to live in DC. Does anyone know what the Tufts in DC program is like? and is it possible to take it in the 2nd semester of your freshman year. I want to go down then so I can stay in DC over the summer and work on a presidential campaign. Im also thinking of going overseas for a semester or two. Is this too much? any insight would be appreciated.

I think going away from campus freshman year is not a good idea for both adjustment to college life and for social reasons. Futhermore, I am not sure you are allowed to. You are supposed to stay on campus a certain number of semesters and you have to live on campus for your first two years.

If you really want to be in DC next year maybe deferring your start of college for a year might be your best choice.

No I don’t think it’s too much to go to DC and study abroad, but you’ll probably want to wait until after your freshman year. Get a good understanding of the school and make some friends as a freshman. Then go other places. It also wouldn’t hurt to plan ahead a little bit, but don’t worry about that until you get here.
