Tufts TUBERS - recommended?

I want to apply to Tufts TUBERS program, but I wanted to know before I do so if anybody has done this program before. If so, how was it? Would you recommend it?

And since they don’t provide housing, is it possible to just pay for a dorm a tufts since they have other precollege programs going on?

I am not familiar with the Tufts TUBERS program.

However, I am a little bit familiar with both the area around Tufts university, and Tufts as a very good university with very good biomedical programs.

You might want to check whether the TUBERS program is located near the main campus of Tufts University, or if it is in downtown Boston near the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The graduate school is in downtown Boston. The main campus is in Medford, relatively close to Davis Square in Somerville. The main campus is in an area that I have visited often and quite like. There are quite a few apartments in the area and I would expect that some students might be willing to sublet their apartments over the summer, although I do not know whether they would want to sublet for just the six weeks of the TUBERS program. You probably should check whether Tufts would let you stay in a dorm for the six week period.

Tufts has very good biomedical programs, and for example offers PhD’s in five different biomedical areas and also now has master’s programs which I think focus on any one of the same five areas (Genetics, Molecular & Cellular Biology; Immunology; Microbiology; or Neuroscience). One daughter (who works in biotech) has been applying to PhD programs and Tufts is one of several universities that she was considering and thinks very highly of.

While I am not specifically familiar with TUBERS, Tufts is definitely a very good university with strong programs in this area and this does look like a good program to me.

When will the admission be released?
