Trying to choose between Tufts and Middlebury. I’m mainly interested in international relations, maybe econ too. Thinking of law school college, then pivot into national security, foreign policy, or legal policy roles in D.C. I know undergrad prestige doesn’t matter much for law school admissions.
I really liked IGS global security concentration at Middlebury. Tufts doesn’t have that specific track but I think a lot or even more of the same course work.
Anyone know how accessible Fletcher is to undergrads? Are the centers like Center for Strategic Studies, Center for International Law and Governance, Center for Global Diplomacy available to undergrads? Are they good resources.
Middlebury has J-Term which seems great for that. Tufts has no J-Term but is closer to Boston and maybe has better term-time access to opportunities. Is J-Term as useful as it sounds for short internships? Curious what people think overall.
Regardless, closing since multiple accounts are prohibited. I have closed this account as well as the 2 you created this morning. The original account is the only one you can use.
I don’t know specifics about Jterm but Middlebury is well connected and will offer you plenty of opportunities to find internships.
My own kid attended a similar LAC and many people did internships in Boston because there are abundant professional and alumni connections there.
They are both really great schools. Tufts is bigger of course, but Middlebury is actually on the larger side for an LAC. @MWolf can probably give more insight to Midd. I really think you should choose based on the environment you prefer.
