Tuition Costs For Stanford University compared to UC Berkeley?

I was Born In Los Angeles, CA. I am currently going to high school in Pakistan doing my A levels. This means that I do not qualify for berkeley’s approx $8,500 tuition per year. Can someone please compare the costs of going to stanford and going to berkeley?

pretty straight forward question for you to look up as opposed to someone else looking it up for you …

[University of California, Berkeley](http://berkeley.edu/)

[Stanford University](http://stanford.edu/)

however financial aid (are you a US citizen?) can seriously close the gap depending on your family’s financial situation

can someone please give me the details of the financial aid instead of giving me a link?

financial aid is extremely generous for us residents (my household income is almost 100k and i almost got a full ride), but is very limited for international applicants.

I’m not sure how “limited” it is for international students. Internationals definitely have a harder time getting in, but as far as I’ve seen, those who do get in will have all their need covered in financial aid. I have quite a few international friends with full rides or full tuition.

why don’t you just apply to both, and then see what each college has to offer aid-wise? : )

^ I would second this advice. Stanford’s tuition+room/board is also not a set price. Depending on how far away you live and other factors they will give you more or less FA? And their FA is awesome (everyone else I have talked to in the class of 2013 agrees). It really is best to apply. That is, if you are interested in Stanford. And then wait and see what the FA offers are.
