Tuition payment

I am currently a sophomore in high school, which is probably too young to start worrying about this, but where do you make your tuition payments to? I am confused about when and where you pay.

Yes, it’s too early to worry about that level of detail.

Ok, thanks. Are all of the details easy to figure out?

It is kind of early to worry about when and where to pay tuition, and it will be easy to figure it out once you get there. However, this is a good time to figure out how much you can afford to pay for college. If you start understanding now what your financial limitations are, then you will be able to make a realistic college list when the time comes. This is a good time to sit down with your parents to find out how much, if any, your parents can contribute to college costs. When you start looking at specific schools, have your parents help you look at the net price calculators on each college site to figure out how much you will be expected to pay. Become familiar with student loans but consider trying to find school w/o them. If you become informed now you will not be surprised by college costs when you are ready to apply.

Relax. College guys are smart enough to handle it easily.

Thanks! That helps a lot.

It’s too early to think about these details. You will be introduced to that carefully and gradually once you are actually enrolled at a school. But to answer your question, it is the bursar’s office where you will be dealing with payments and bills.

More important is sitting down with your parents and determining what your realistic budget is for schools. This is a great time to figure out what you can afford, where you can look, and if you need need-based aid and/or merit scholarships.
