<p>Hi, I’m applying for Tulane using the free app they sent me via email and I have some questions:</p>
<p>For activities, they give you space to give the name of the activity, the amount of hours per week, and then any awards, honors, etc that you got for the activity. For an important activity that you only did for one day or one week of the year, what would you put for the hours per week? For example, I attended Buckeye Boys State [Buckeye</a> Boys State](<a href=“http://www.ohiobuckeyeboysstate.com/index.htm]Buckeye”>http://www.ohiobuckeyeboysstate.com/index.htm) for 8 days and probably did 70-80 hours worth of activities (not including meals and sleeping) in those 8 days. What exactly would I put for hours a week for that? Should I explain the situation in the space below for awards, etc? Or would they not want me to do that?</p>
<p>Also, for the current courses section, 4 of my periods this year are comprised of a unique program at my school called STEM Bodies. It consists of 3 periods of science and one period of technical writing every day. All 4 of the periods count as separate AP classes. The meat of the program though is that we take Biology classes at Ohio State University. We go for lecture at least twice a week and then lab once a week. There’s not really any way I can express this on the current courses section because it leaves no space for explanation. Is it not important because they will be able to see from my transcripts?</p>
<p>Don’t overthink it. For example, for the Boys State EC, just put down “Boys State Week” and then 80 hours for the time. As far as the academics, I am sure it will be reflected on your transcript. You can put down “Special Science Program, see transcript” or something like that. Most likely the admissions counselor responsible for Ohio is familiar with your high school and this program. Just do the best you can.</p>
<p>The other thing you can do is write a note to your admissions counselor in an e-mail explaining the things the app didn’t really quite allow you to properly list. They can add that to your file.
