Does anyone know when the RD decisions will be released?
@Bayeriffic I remember when you first posted that your S got accepted to Tulane after being deferred EA. We are envious :). Still waiting to see if our D will get accepted. She wrote to her admission counselor, sent her updated resume, and received a personalized and thoughtful reply. But the waiting is so hardâŠ
@purplecattt I think we three have been in the same chats for Tulane, UT Austin, and Miami. Our D is accepted at UT Austin, deferred EA by Tulane and waiting, and waiting for response for RD application for Miami. Tulane is first choice of the three!
Best of luck to all!
@collegemom111111 thanks for writingâŠyour comment only goes to show you how screwy this all isâŠ
My son rejected UT Austin-applied to RTF as an out of state student which is super hard to get in to but still we thought heâd get in. And deferred from UM as well⊠as you know accepted to Tulane. No rhyme or reason. Makes zero sense! I wish you the best of luck over the next month as decisions from all schools come in:)
If you think of it is a linear, purely statistical analysis, it wonât ever make sense (with respect to any college, not just Tulane). But itâs not purely random either; definitely not.
If you think of it as a weighted lottery (like the NBA draft), where your good stats and other credentials give you more ping pong balls in the bowl than people without those assets, but you are still subject to a degree of randomness, itâs easier to digest.
In other words, itâs possible to try and predict over the course of thousands of applicants and many years what people âlike youâ may experience (cf Niche and Parchment analyses), but itâs impossible to predict what will happen to âyouâ.
So True. My son was accepted to Notre Dame, Boston College, Villanova and UMiami(with a huge scholarship) but deferred at Tulane - seems fairly random

not sure if this sounds cocky but I am so confident about getting in, anyone else?
and if they donât admit me. Itâs their loss.
@BabaO, this is a very skewed view of whatâs actually happening on campus. Check out BIPAC for an example of Israel support.
did anyone else receive a TPM interview?
Does anyone have a timetable for when deferred applicants get their final decisions?
I was just going back to posts for the past couple of years and it appears as if Tulane announces in âbatches of decisionsâ starting mid-month. But, each wave of notifications included accepted, waitlisted and rejected students, so not hearing right away didnât seem to mean good or bad news to not hear right away.
Are merit scholarships announced along with your decision?
@LincolnsGF - Yes, the acceptance letter includes the merit scholarship information.
when do deferred people hear back?
Is anyone going to accepted student day on March 16th. My wife and son are going and would love to meet up with other families prior to and post Tulane activities.
@Acortez122 I think deferred are now RD. So I would expect by the end of March. Lots of stuff will happen in March.
Any predictions on when deferred EA applicants will hear? Will it be mid or late march? When did RD decisions come out last year? Fingers crossed and canât wait to hear!!!
Looking back on last yearâs thread, seems like there were MANY waitlists, as well as, rejections beginning on March 19. Acceptances (as well as few other decisions) then rolled in after that. I noticed that top notch applicants were waitlisted, even some legaciesâŠoddâŠ
@RaleighNCdad - Join the Facebook Parents of Tulane Class of 2023 group. Plenty of parents posting there about accepted student days (Destination Tulane). We are going April 9. Enjoy your trip!
