What we’re doing is getting on Naviance and College Board (“Big Future”) and identifying scholarships for which to apply and applying. It’s lots of work, but people have had some success doing this. At some point, I’m hoping to convince my spouse that we have enough extra via scholarships to justify a little austerity budgeting or borrowing against retirement accounts or our house, etc. to make up the difference.
Daughter has also received generous scholarships from other places. At this point, we know she will go to college debt-free somewhere. It’s just not where she wants to be. I’d move heaven and earth to get her to Tulane instead.
