Hi
Anyone have a daughter who isn’t into sororities? Cool mature kid who loves to travel and eat good food, etc??
My DD was at the event today and came across some “mean girls” who laughed at another girl’s question in the student forum and it left a bad taste in her mouth.
She LOVES the school otherwise and I’m sure that there are these types all over but it left her with a bad vibe after what was a fine morning.
My child was at the Q&A also and I asked her about this. If the question was about cats, any laughter wasn’t directed at the one asking—it was because it came up in our student-led tour and the guide we had gave completely wrong info about having pets in dorms. (He mentioned it a few times and said lots of people have cats, and he gave some other inaccurate info to our group as well) If that was the same instance you are referring to, hopefully your daughter will understand it was absolutely not anything directed at the one asking the question and my daughter feels awful if someone took it that way.
Hey all, I was admitted way back in the EA round for a BS in Real Estate
I do. She’s excited about heading to NOLA this August. We are concerned about what you mentioned, but I figure she’ll find her tribe of grounded, down to earth people who love music, eating, socializing, playing volleyball, studying and having an amazing experience in NOLA. There will be those we tolerate and those we celebrate everywhere. They just have to magnify the celebration worthy ones more. Roll wave!
Has anyone heard of the waitlist has moved at all? We haven’t heard and also have seen or heard of anyone being offered a spot from the waitlist. It’s unlikely given last years numbers I’m sure
Did you hear anything about this ? My daughter considering it for 2024
Going to put this here from another post, and spread the love you all!
Remember also students who didn’t get in, or who are considering Tulane: there is the IDT (interdivisional transfer) from the Tulane School of Professional Advancement to NTC with fulfilling the 6 core requirements:
Foreign Language
Math
Science
English (English 1010 compulsory)
Social Science
Humanities
With a C (or C-) or better
At least two (2) semesters in SoPA (School of Professional Advancement)
At least 18 Tulane credits
Upon completion of such, you will require a deans letter of approval from SoPA, just like going from NTC to SoPA, and you will have completed IDT to becoming a full fledged Tulanian!
Perfect way to circumvent the normal freshman undergraduate route if you have a year or three of a break from school, and last I saw, you need a 2.0 GPA to get in, send in your transcripts (if you have any), have a high school diploma or GED, and be in good standing where you were previously if you were someone else previously. Not necessarily the 1-3 years break from school. Also, you don’t need to break from school, all you have to do is go into the SoPA and work on the transfer process.
They only know what you tell them.
This is the link to the proof: https://sopa.tulane.edu/student-information/policies/general-policies
and its TOTALLY okay to circumvent the normal admission route, AND you don’t need to take a gap year or anything!
Good luck everyone, especially if you’re financially hurting, SoPA may be the PERFECT way to start!
Any of your friends and family that didn’t get into Tulane via the normal undergraduate application route can easily join you thru SoPA, and don’t worry, it’s a totally viable option, plus, you have proof from the link ^^ that the IDT, the TRUE backdoor into Tulane exists. Don’t worry about your image of “oh, what about those who worked hard to get in the normal way?”. Well, are they helping you get in?
Good luck!
