To everyone worried about being deferred or rejected, DO NOT STRESS TOO MUCH. No decisions were sent out Monday, and I’m assuming that’s why a lot of decisions came today. But everyone who’s waiting still has until December 20th to find out, and in the past they have released acceptances up to that deadline so don’t get discouraged because there’s more to come!

Where are the ED acceptances? I don’t see many if any…Weird. Any thoughts?

If anyone has questions I am glad to answer right now.

Reflection:
Strengths: My extracurriculars are probably the best part of my app as I am very dedicated to them and have a lot of leadership. My essays were unique and showed off my personality well. My scores and GPA were on the higher end for TU so that likely helped get me the scholarship
Weaknesses: I didn’t visit campus, demographics, downward trend in grades (got my only B’s 2nd semester junior yr)
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: showed interest by attending 2 regional visits and doing the online chats, wrote a “why Tulane” that connected me to the school, and my stats
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: I’m going to attend the Top Scholars Weekend thingy and hope to see lots of you there!

@hadlee What are your stats???

Hadlee- Do you mind sharing your terrible stats please? Mine are not the best but I applied ED so looking for hope!

@seabear21

I have a 29 on my ACT and a 3.8 weighed… I have pretty good EC and I took all the AP classes my school offers which is why my GPA isn’t that high (my school weighs AP classes strange)

Do you know what your unweighted is?

My school doesn’t calculate unweighted GPAs but I’d assume it’s somewhere around a 3.4-3.6 range…?

29 on my ACT and a 3.8 weighed… I guess not “terrible” but for Tulane pretty low! @loop2loop

For those who have been asking, at least for me I got an email telling me my portal had updated. The portal now has a giant button saying “Congratulations, you’re in!” and buttons that let you register for destination Tulane and the Top Scholars Weekend. At the bottom of the page is a link to view changes that had an acceptance letter that told me my scholarship and such.

Are you automatically accepted into Freeman or do you need to apply separately?

I’m starting to wonder if they have had the ED numbers worked out for a while and will release them mostly at once. They know these are givens because their binding and just trying to work the numbers out on the EA to round the class out. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? There have been a few ED acceptances but not many.

@hbrunner no email here – just checked the portal … so strange the way they roll these out!

like this if you have been rejected/deferred! I have yet to hear back btw! Congrats to everyone who has heard!

My son does not post on here, but I did want to post for him since it seems to help others.

Where else you are applying or have already applied:
General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: We did visit and he stressed about it in essay, he also took advantage of other kids in the past and discussed it before hand. Even got help with Fallen Chemist before he died. I am sure he would be proud to hear he got in. Find your passion for my son it was the Boy Scouts and try to stand out among all the others that do that activity. It is not how many activities it is having one your the best against all the others that do similar activities. He actually met some amazing Eagle Scouts out in Philmont and some did even more amazing things, but for little old Maine with the cold winters I’d say he did good.
