The takeaways from this are the 9% increase in applications—just under 39,000, the most selective status in admissions ever—17% (versus 21% last year), the higher yield of 29%—that means almost 1 out of every 3 students accepted chooses to attend Tulane. Just about 5 years ago I believe the yield was 22%, so that’s a big jump. A class size of just under 1,900. The average ACT is now in Ivy-league /elite school range of 32 and average Converted SAT is 1456 (although with the new ACT/SAT conversation tables coming out soon this may change the average SAT score), and 22% of students who are of color, which means greater diversity. The late FallenChemist, Tane’s biggest advocate on CC, had predicted this continued upswing as the school recovered from hurricane Katrina and as the school’s ranking in US News & World Report rose back to its place where it had been before Katrina. He must be smiling from up above. Roll Wave!
