tulane: TOO-lane or TULL-ane

kind of a dumb question, but I’m really not sure which way to pronounce it!

two-lane…

^ditto

ten char

Actually, it is named after Paul Tulane, who pronounced his name two-lah-NAY, so that is how it should be said.

OK, I am kidding, LOL. It is two-lane, but I do hear people pronounce it with the accent on the first syllable about as often as I hear it on the second.

thank you thank you everyone

President Cowen (COW-when) says both, even in the same speech.

What you should be thinking about is: Is it New Or-leans, New Or-lee-uns, New Or-lins, or N’Awlins?

well seeing as I’m from the midwest/northeast, I’m going to go with New Or-leans :]
