Was your son offered any scholarships or merit aid
He gets a small scholarship relative to his program and need based grants - which will change year to year based on FAFSA/CSS filing.
Any scholarships received reduces the need based aid award first - be aware of that.
You ask above too if ED/EA candidates have the same shot at the DHS and PT awards. I donât think anyone here can answer that for you (beyond conjecture) and the school definitely isnât going to answer that for you. If your kid gets it or doesnât get it youâll likely never know why. The only thing you can do is apply for them and cross your fingers.
You are so right about the scholarships. Hoping for the best.
Any thoughts on whether I should now submit my scores if I applied earlier on TO and was deferred? I have a 31 and a 4.3 GPA âŠ. wondering if it would help. I feel like my senior year first semester grades definitely will be helpful (All As in 5 APs, a dual enrollment course, electives ⊠) Not fr sure whether my score is too low for Tulane
Wow - Tulane has a 2023/24 CDS up.
It shows 45% submit - and the range (Superscore) is 31-33 so it shouldnât hurt and could help.
How are your subscores?
Are they in range?
Look at section C9.
Good luck.
Thank you! Iâve seen the CDS and thatâs why Iâm kinda in a pickle. I have a 35 reading, 34 english, 30 science, 25 math⊠itâs the math Iâm primarily concerned about but my english & reading are very strong so ! Not sure what to doâŠâŠ
Did she demonstrate interest?
Again, itâs all about demonstrated interest for Tulane. They see thousands of kids with stats and extracurriculars like your childâs. Theyâre only going to take the ones that they think will more than likely attend.
Question regarding PT and DH scholarships ⊠I know they are announced sometime in Feb but how are you notified ⊠Green Wave Portal, email, letter?
Also, does anyone know how many are given out?
Does anyone have any expected or rumored dates for ED2 to come out?
Last year was Jan 31. They will announce it on instagram the day before
Daughter admitted EA (Honors Program)with 25K merit. Any idea when the financial aid letters will be sent?
Thank you! Do you expect the 31st for this year as well?
You can look back at prior year threads and see the release dates. No one other than the school (who will commit the day before in the social media post) can tell you the day to expect.
All guesses proven wrong unless otherwise right!
Congrats to your daughter! Tulane uses FAFSA and CSS profile. Assuming youâve done both of those - and knowing FAFSA wonât be submitted to them until the end of this month - I wouldnât expect a Fin Aid letter from them until March or April - but well in advance of the 5/1 commit date.
If it helps at all when S23 applied I found the Net Price Calculator on their website pretty accurate to where we ended up. Recognize that the Scholarship will be considered part of that package though (i.e. if list price is $85K and NPC kicks out a $60K number theyâre going to say youâre all set).
No idea. (Iâd like to know too.) But the EA acceptance letter says âIf you completed our financial aid application requirements by the December 15 Early Action deadline, then we expect to send email notifications regarding your financial aid offer prior to April 1.â

My son recâd an email on 1/12 from the FA office w/his offer. It directed him to his Gibson Portal.
Interesting! Does that include need-based aid?
In Gibson Portal we see the merit award that was there since the December EA offer, but we donât see any update about need-based aid. The NPC gives a number that is at our budget, but we need to see the real number to confirm affordability.
Yesâit includes my sonâs merit award that came with his acceptance letter as well as additional need-based aid. It nets out pretty spot-on with our NPC.
