Turing, Math, and FRI

Let’s see, I’ll be doing Computer Science with Turing Scholars. I think I will also try to do the bachelor’s and master’s in 5 years plan. Would double majoring in math also as well as joining FRI be impossible to do? I’m not opposed to having to take summer classes, but I may have to work over summers too. I’m not really sure if Turing and FRI are compatible. Since FRI would last for my first 1.5 years and math wouldn’t officially start, I think, until my second year, I don’t see too much of a conflict there. The biggest problem would likely be the amount of time for me to finish. Five years may not be enough but I don’t know if I’ll have enough scholarships to last that long. Advice?

Not sure about Turing in particular (though I’m about to be in it…), but Dean’s Scholars encourages research (including FRI stuff), and basically every CS Dean’s Scholar is a Turing Scholar as well. Basically, those two would seem compatible to me. But I don’t know how it is when you add a double major in. It probably all depends on how much work you can handle, as you can probably get max credit enrollment stuff waived and all that.

When did you all find out about your acceptance into the Turing Honors Program?

Gee, that was a while ago, I think sometime in February.
