Turkey's Secret Police

An arrest warrant was issued by Turkey for Enes Kanter, an NBA player, for “associating with a terror group”. It appears this may be retaliation for Kanter’s very strong anti-Erdogan statements.

He is safe for now, but would Trump try to show off to Erdogan, who Trump greatly admires, by deporting Kanter?

^^Nothing may turn Oklahoma blue except if he tries to deport Kanter.

I just found out about the American Pastor jailed in Turkey.

Is this for real? I know it is but how can USA allow an American citizen held captive like that? I don’t know which is more embarrassing. Allowing Turkish secret service beat up on American citizens or allowing a crook like Erdogan jail an American pastor with bogus charges.

A more recent article, from a news organization that is probably distrusted less than the one you linked to:

When in a foreign country, you are subject to the jurisdiction of that country. Do not be surprised if some of the laws or how they are enforced are unreasonable by the standards of your home country, or that there are plenty of US citizens who are imprisoned in other countries for what those other countries consider violations of their laws (whether reasonable or not, which may depend on your point of view).
