I’ve been awarded a large amount of money at a small LAC. It’s a comfortable and hospitable place, but i’m concerned that it may be too small and i’m unconvinced by its academic program and job placement.

Should i turn it down for the school i love, even if it means ill be $30,000-40,000 in debt when I graduate?

no no no…LACs are wonderful (i’m biased, obviously, but I’m in a completely opposite situation). I think you should visit before you turn down the LAC. sitting in classes and doing overnights are really helpful, imho. if it’s reallllllly that lacking in academics, you probably wouldn’t even consider it, so I’m guessing it’s at least on the charts.

well the one i love is also a LAC…I guess what i’m asking is, in the grand scheme of things, how bad is -40,000 right out of school.

Do you qualify for financial aid at the other LAC?
