Well, like many students Brown is my dream school. The problem is that I’m only a sophmore, but I already think I have no shot at Brown. I’m ranked second in the class, and I took the SAT II Bio and got a 740 on it. My GPA is kinda low like 3.8, and I have terrible EC’s. I’m involved in only two clubs, and two sports. One of which I’ll be varsity captain of, but besides that I have no leadership positions. I voulenteer once a week at the local hospital (I wanna be a doctor). Is there anyway to turn it around now, and become a strong candidate for Brown?

Sarcasm really doesn’t read well.

Agree with alvyy -

You sound like someone who feels wronged and wants to lash out more than funny or amusing.

Sorry, I re-read my post and it does come off as sarcastic or poking fun so let me rephrase. I thought my stats were pretty good until I went to the waitlisted stats forum, and saw that most of the kids who were waitlisted had better stats than me. What more can I do to be a stronger candidate for admissions to Brown.

If you’re serious…keep doing what you’re doing. You seem to be on the right track. I think one of the best things you can do is really try to figure out who YOU are and what you’re passionate about. If you can convey this to admissions officers through an essay or any other aspect of your application, I think that’d increase anyone’s chances.
