I have yet to use the blue book but plan to soon. I know the college board has explanations for free on its website. I saw this book was praised on amazon but don’t know how legitimate that may be. Are the explanations in this book anything special compared to what college board offers for free?

Not really.

Sandwichgirl, out of curiosity, may I ask you how much time you have spent reading the online explanations of TCB? Have you read the explanations provided by Tutor Ted, or a number of similar authors who have written solutions to the TCB released tests?

Obviously, you are entitled to your opinion. However, it would be nice for this board to know how you form your opinion, and how much of it is based on facts or idle speculation.

I actually own Tutor Ted’s explanations (my parents bought it for me when I first started was starting out). I use them concurrently with the official CB explanations when checking my answers, and I have found that the book is not worth the money. Tutor Ted’s book simply skims down the CB explanations into brief, user-friendly explanations. It is not as if the CB solutions are written in an arcane language that requires one to (for a lack of better phrase) dumb it down. The CB explanations are written very clearly, offer more depth, and explains why wrongs answers are wrong as well. What more could you ask for? Not much.
