Is it possible to use some kind of signal splitter to have 2 tv’s hooked up in the dorm room? Anyone had any success with that?

Yes, you can get them at Radio Shack and other electronics stores. The splitter will drop the signal each TV receives by 3db (50%), usually this is not a problem. Sometimes, however, poor coax or a succession of too many splitters results in a TV getting too weak of a signal. A simple 2-port splitter (one input and 2 outputs) won’t cost much and should do the job. Don’t bother with an amplified splitter - unless it’s the 1st one in the chain (closest to the antenna or signal source), it’s going to amplify as much noise as signal and not do you any good.

why? Are you too greedy to share your tv with your roommate?

i’ve never been in a dorm room with 2 televisions…

just asking—actually, the roommate wasn’t interested in sharing

I don’t really understand how that would work. I mean, do you attach headphones to the TVs so that you can both watch at once? And if you’re not going to be both watching at once, why get two?

Methinks your roommate isn’t thinking this one through.

yea i would wait on buying that. i mean i just don’t see how that would work.
