Yea I loved the episode! lol remember when Axl slept for 2 days without anyone waking him up to go to his classes!

I adore Sue. : )

I would love to see a spin off with Sue in college.

That would be a fun spin-off. Maybe her best friend, Brad, could go with her.

I love Brad!

I busted out laughing when Brick was thrilled to get a copy of “Infinite Jest” as his Christmas present. I’ve been trying to get through that book for the past three years!

Loved the last minutes of this week’s Middle, after Frankie capitulates and decorates overnight, and the reaction of the family.

Sue, Alex on Modern Family and my daughter are all seniors this year, so it’s kind of fun seeing the fictional approaches to college visits. We had lunch in a college dining hall on a visit the day after the show with Sue’s terror with the trays to find there were no trays at all. One less worry.

The Christmas tree thing brought back some memories for me. D1 became horribly allergic to Christmas trees, so we had to go the faux route. Every year there is cursing as we try to figure out how to put the darn thing together again. Our tree is very large because we have tall ceilings, and all that “fluffing” out the smashed branches gets tiresome. Now they come in four large sections, but I do remember the days of trying to put each branch into the colored holes on the trunk like Frankie and Mike were doing, or at least some version of the same.

Awww, sad.
But I cracked up at how Mike and Axl reacted to Sue’s engagement. Axl is losing the “I hate my sister” war.
Okay, I am dying right now. The Hecks just found out that Sue qualifies for full financial aid. They are high fiving, saying “OMG I KNEW we were poor! Yay! Just think! If we’d worked harder, none of this would be possible!”
^And last week’s episode was hilarious, too. Frankie and Mike were panicking when the first two decisions were waitlisted at Purdue and denied at Notre Dame. That scene with Frankie out on the patio flinging the had me laughing so hard the cat was eyeing me like I was a some kind of nut…
Oh, and my favorite line in the episode: “And to alleviate the stress of waiting, I joined Curves. Well, I made the phone call - everyone knows that’s the hardest part!”
lolol
Love this show. . .though I’ve only seen re-runs, not the new episodes.
I’ve never seen this show discussed on any forum. I love the show and have watched it whenever possible since the beginning. I’m going to have to watch the last couple through on demand.
I do not understand why Eden Sher has not won an Emmy. She is consistently good. What a good sport to look like a high school nerd on every episode. She’s really cute in real life.
I grew up in houses and friends homes that looked and were very similiar. It is so nostalgic for me.
I agree. And yes, she is very pretty in real life.

She says she never gets recognized when she’s out of character and out and about.
I was Frankie out on the patio throwing the chair…laughed so hard.
We watch it as a family and are always amazed when Frankie says the exact same things that I do, and how often we have the exact same issues as this family. For example, my oldest two are one year apart, and so last year I spent all my time and energy (it seemed) on my oldest son’s college applications, getting ready for college, etc. Then his younger sister said, “Why aren’t you paying any attention to me?” I said “Well, this is his year. Next year will be your year,” and from time to time my daughter will whine “Why isn’t anybody paying any attention to me? This is supposed to be MY YEAR.”
So when Frankie made this big thing about this year being Sue’s year because last year was Axl’s year, everybody in my family looked at me and they were like “OMG. She really is you.” Too funny!
And, oh yes, I also dated a Brad who was a big fan of musical theater, etc. in high school, and last year at Thanksgiving we had this talk about how everyone in my family knew that Brad was gay except me. Like Sue, I was pretty oblivious to a lot of things.
