<p>I have a quick question about these devices. I am going to be moving to a family friends house for a year before I attend the University of Texas. The problem is, this family doesnt have cable TV. So I was wondering, with the TV tuner that I get - probably this one: <a href=“CNET: Product reviews, advice, how-tos and the latest news”>CNET: Product reviews, advice, how-tos and the latest news; - will I be able to watch TV with this thing since it has a FM tuner? <p>i dont think you can watch cable through a tv tuner if the house doesnt have cable…i do believe a slingbox will allow you to do what you want though</p>
<p>This tv tuner and others will not give you cable tv where there is none. Slingbox is something that im not too knowledgeable about but I’ve heard that it works. That ATI TV Tuner Elite is an o.k. product. I had no problem with the card but the software that is included with it is horrendous. ATI Media Center is a terrible product. Follow this advice: If you do have Windows Media Center Edition, please use it. If not, try to find another, better product.</p>
