I took the SAT in October but only got my results now due to some kind of problem with test takers in China (I took the test in a private testing center in Dongguan China) I thought I did well but when I turned on my computer this morning I saw 1740 staring me in the face. I have less than thirteen more days to prepare for the december SAT and if you havent noticed from the choppy sentences I am panicking. Please help me, how do I prepare in ten days? I really need to get my score up to 1800 at least to qualify for some of the colleges I am looking at.

Getting it to 1800 shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Can you give me your breakdown from last time?

Writing was the easiest for me to improve on. Cram practice and learn the grammar mistakes that you missed. There are usually a few that show up very often (especially plural and singular usage; always check through a sentence for this if you can’t find any other mistakes, they can be kind of tricky if the verb and object are far apart). Cram some vocabulary words too. Maybe around 50 a day? Don’t get stopped by words that you have trouble remembering at this point. Skip those and move on, then maybe come back to them later.

Thanks, I took it today and felt like it was a lot easier this time, just hope my score reflects that…
