Twin brother and I want to write about the same thing

My brother and I have to write an essay talking about what time period we would like to be born in, and why. He already wrote the essay and sent it in. Would it be bad if I wrote my essay about wanting to be born in the same time period? In other words, would it be bad if two twins wrote their college essays about essentially the same thing, with different reasons why? Thanks

Don’t talk to your brother about it and don’t read his. Too late? I’d pick another just to be sure you don’t come off sounding like you are copying him if you are applying to the same school.

He already sent in his application. We have not talked about it, but I don’t want to get rejected because they think I copied off of his essay.

If your reasons are really different, it is probably ok.

You realize that both you and brother will be read at the same time? So the similarities in essays will be apparent. Why can’t you just choose something else?
