So something weird is up. I’m an international student so it takes a long time for acceptance packages to reach us - my twin’s USC package was posted 1/27 (Would this be first wave?) but he JUST got it today. I have yet to receive anything. Anyhow, we open the package and the decision letter has his name in it and all, and the other papers in it also have his name and USC ID, so I’m positive the acceptance package is for him. But the weird thing is the certificate that comes in the package that says “This is to certify that name has been admitted to the University of Southern California with all rights and privileges accorded thereto.” has MY name, not my brother’s name. The certificate is even signed by the Associate Dean of Admission and Financial Aid. So I’m wondering, what the hell happened?! How could they get my brother’s name wrong on an actual signed certificate? Do you think this means that I may also have gotten into USC also but they got our certificates mixed up (assuming my package has yet to arrive)? It’s really strange they could make a mistake like that on a Certificate of Admission. Though, my counselor emailed the Associate Dean about what happened today and we’re waiting for a reply now. So it’s best that I hear what USC has to say. I hope this error works in my favor, though, if they were still considering me.

Very interesting. Are your names similar, as sometimes happens with twins in the US? Guess you’ll just have to wait for Admissions to explain what occurred.

its funny, but yeah you can simply call them and explaind what happened.

MagicalMalik,

I just returned form an Explore session with my son. We met MANY of the admissions committee members. They are great people. They are very friendly and VERY willing to help. This problem is one that they would want to know about and would be very willing to resolve/explain. Call them for a quick answer. Do keep in mind that they are busy with scholarship interviews and reviews of applications. They are a great group of people! Don’t be afraid to call or email them at any time!

AHHH my counselor got a reply back from USC Admissions and they said both me and my twin brother got into USC and we BOTH got Dean’s Scholarships!! I can’t believe it!!! I didn’t think I would get in, let alone with a scholarship!! Amazing. I’m ecstatic.

Congratulations!! I suspected that both of you were admitted. And the Deans! Times two!! Amazing.

Thank you madbean!! This is very exciting. :D

Wonderful news! I suspected with the 1/27 mailing date that you would get at least a Dean’s. I am surprised they did not DHL your acceptance as they did with the other international students. GREAT NEWS! What major/school did you two get in to? By the way the Dean’s letter is sent separately from what I have read.

Last year twins were admitted to the Marshall School and both received alumni scholarships.

Your parents must be proud of your achievements. Congratulations on your admittance and scholarship awards.
