My friend told me he got denied to UP, so just made a whole other application as a way to “reapply” again. Basically he created another PSU account, filled out SRAR, selected summer etc. He even paid the application fee and paid to have his SAT scores sent again. What’s the purpose in doing this? He said since it’s after May 1st he’ll have a higher chance of getting in.
I don’t understand his logic, either. There are deadlines for a reason. So, he did not commit to any college for 2018-19?
Penn State is pretty good with their yields, with the exception of one year where they accidentally accepted too many people due to the changing over to lionpath. But I don’t think after May 1 gives him any special advantage over just asking for reconsideration. If he has the same stats and the same application as before, the fact that it’s after May 1 won’t matter so much.
Does he think he’s applying for next fall? Because that doesn’t open until August. A new application with the same social security number would just be matched to his old one, and rejected just the same. I’d be surprised if it was even treated as a new document.
