Two CC's at one time?

<p>I heard that if you try and transfer from a CC in just two years that is is nearly impossible because of budget cuts and impacted classes so I want to know if i should do two at one time or just stick to one?</p>

<p>Are you referring to California Community Colleges? It is absolutely possible to transfer in two years. You should see a counselor sometime your first semester and get a student education plan so you will have a higher registration priority (and a plan of the classes you will need to take). You also need to learn about the numerous options available, wisely select colleges you wish to transfer to, and take classes that will transfer over. Use Assist.org to help you determine what classes your community college provides in your major that will transfer over to the college you wish to transfer to. There are also numerous options for transferring from a community college - TAG, TAP, Honors-to-Honors transfer agreements, and regular transfer agreements. Learn about what transfer programs are available at your Community College, attend transfer workshops, and if there is a transfer club, do join it. </p>

<p>You will have delays in transferring if you change majors, change colleges you wish to transfer to, take classes that don’t meet your general ed or major requirement (i.e. “fun classes not required”), or don’t take a full load of classes each semester (15 credits per semester). </p>

<p>I certainly would recommend taking additional classes at another community college if your cc doesn’t have one of the classes you need in order to transfer to your 4-year uni. But there is no reason to enroll at two community colleges for fear of getting the classes you want (and remember - you must take 50% of the classes at one community college in order to graduate from there). The horror stories of full time degree seeking students from community colleges not being able to get classes seem to be a thing of the past. My daughter and her friends have not had any problems in getting the classes they need and all are on track to complete CC in two years.</p>

<p>Yeah but what if my current grades dont qualify me for either TAP or TAG? Then i just take normal classes and work hard right? Or is there other options that can help me gain a competitive edge?</p>

<p>Aside from working hard and doing your best, a competitive edge for completing CC in 2 years is making sure you understand the transfer procedures at the time you enter CC. You will get valuable information from your counselor/advisor at CC, but should also become familiar with the following - </p>

<p>For transfer to a UC, you will need to complete IGETC (a series of classes required for transfer admittance to the UC’s) –
