My son is planning to apply to private school next year. We’ll need FA…Do you think that if our daughter applies to the same school (she is 3 years younger so basically can wait, but would be so much easier if they both get accepted… it would only work with schools that are k-12)… would that hurt my son’s chances?
I’ve had two children in a nursery through 8th grade school with FA for both. Since they are four yrs apart, when it comes to HS, when the oldest is leaving (this yr) the youngest would be entering…so for HS, I’m not sure how it would be for two kids at the same time. I have a friend with a child in a NYC private HS and her younger child just applied…but got WL for FA. I think it all depends on the school and the FA available
It will vary by school. Some schools will count tuition at other schools as an allowable expense regardless of whether it is the same school or not. College is a different story - most do not consider secondary school tuition in calculating need based aid.
what I meant is - does it lower my son’s chances at school A if my daughter applies to the same school A the same year for FA?
