Two questions about NYU...

1) For the admissions-savvy - if you applied early and get rejected from your first choice but accepted into GSP, is it still binding? (Don’t worry, I would be happy to go to GSP)
2) What’s NYU’s policy about bringing people up into the dorms that don’t go to the school? There’s not a … curfew … or anything, right? I know it may sound crazy but I’ve heard some schools implement curfews so I figure I’d ask.

Thanks.

I can only answer your #1. No, it is NOT binding.

I was thinking the same thing about Gsp and ED…I know they don’t defer or waitliost the ED kids, so I was thinking how can they accept you to GSP and expect it to be binding? I’m sending out a batch more apps to hedge my bet. I can get my act together application-wise, but the school guidance department is a mess!

1) Like a previous poster stated, ED to GSP is not initially binding. However, they require you to send them an e-mail back to confirm your acceptance to GSP, so once you do that, it becomes binding.
2) The major policy that you must understand is that you have to get signed in using a valid ID. These include driver’s licenses/permits (I’m not sure about student IDs, but I’ll check for you tomorrow when I’m on campus), but PASSPORTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED (my friend tried to use a passport, and it was a nono). If you do not attend NYU, there is still no curfew or anything like that, but the friend you are staying with must be with you to sign you out when you are leaving.

the answer is no, and no.

Ooh so I checked the rules today, and student IDs from other schools are also acceptable
