two questions

First, if my mom’s EFC is 0, does that mean we don’t have to pay for college tuition or only for those college that will meet financial needs?

Second, for the CSS profile, it says i need noncustodial information. If I don’t give it to them, it will delay the process. But, my parents divorced before I was even born and I don’t even know who my dad is. He is somewhere in Russia and we have no contact with him. Do I call the colleges?

First question … no. You most likely will have to pay for college in some way or another. All but a very select few colleges will at least expect you to have some type of work contribution or borrow student loans. So it won’t be “free.” Most schools do not promise to fully meet your need, so there will be a gap between your aid and the cost (and there will be loans & probably work study in your financial aid package) - you will have to come up with the rest.

Second question … call the colleges.
