I have two four year old rabbits and am planning on having a single room because I have severe anxiety. They are my comfort animals. Will I be allowed to have them if I don’t have a roommate? Thanks!
Neither New Jersey law nor federal law says that rabbits are service animals, only dogs. St. Elizabeth’s website specifically discusses that dogs that are trained to do a service are allowed. http://www.cse.edu/academics/accessibility-services/service-animal-policy Centenary University states that only fish are allowed as pets. http://www.centenaryuniversity.edu/student-life/residence-life/faqs-residence-life/
Thank you!
Under federal law, you can have an emotional support animal in your place of housing. You’d need to get a letter from a mental health professional that you require the ESA, and then complete some other forms (health certificate of the animal).

How do you house your rabbits? What will you do to prevent them from chewing on furniture/wires/carpeting? (says somebody with a rabbit)
I have my rabbits in a large cage and I give them plenty of toys to chew on! and does ESA apply to rabbits?
