The kids were under 3 years old, the parents were at a wine tasting. Doors, windows locked, parents monitoring kids through a cell phone. Crazy people out there.
Not crazy, just extremely selfish. JMO.
If that is supposed to be a link…it isn’t working as one.
If these people had the resources to go to a wine tasting, they should have hired a babysitter.
It’s beyond selfish, it’s irrespsonsible.
Saw this on the news. Passerbyers claimed the kids were loudly crying in the car - if the parents were monitoring them, why did they not respond to the crying (oh yeah, they left in the car in the first place, they are totally lame!)
Here’s the news clip I saw - I have to also crack up at the way the parents are RUNNING from the reporters!!!

People are stupid.
Unbelievable!
I was at traffic ticket court once and the judge was great. He gave everyone a fair hearing and was quite lenient, preferring to educate rather than punish.
One guy was a complete bonehead. He got a ticket for parking illegally and he insisted it wasn’t valid because he had left his baby in the car! He said, “as long as there’s a person in the car you can’t get a ticket”. The judge kept trying to explain but he couldn’t get it through his thick skull. People in the court room starting yelling at the guy to shut up.
The judge finally said, “I will dismiss this only if you promise to never leave your baby in the car alone ever again.” The guy grudgingly agreed. He had only left him while he was delivering groceries to his ex in a townhouse but still - leaving your kid as some kind of prop!
These two look like parents of the year compared to the family in Missouri who had an acquaintance lure their six year old into his pickup truck, keep him in a basement for several hours, terrorizing him with a gun and threats that he could be nailed to a wall or sold into sex slavery, to supposedly teach him about stranger danger. Seems to me that his own family members are far more dangerous. Some people should just not be permitted to procreate.
Alwaysamom, I saw that on the news. Thank goodness the boy mentioned the kidnapping at school, and someone took him seriously.
Great!!! And they planned on returning to their car to drive everyone home…after a bunch of DRINKING???
Sometimes, I read stuff and begin to question if some people should even be allowed to have children. This just breaks my heart:

That is a haunting story @BunsenBurner! I often wonder what becomes of the kids who are found, all too often, in these circumstances. Do they ever find permanent, loving homes or just bounce among foster situations? Do their psychological wounds ever heal enough to permit them to lead normal, healthy lives? We never hear the end of the story.
I’d be in favor of mandatory sterilization of any parent convicted of abuse or serious neglect.
