Two Teacher Evaluations

Harvard asks two teacher evaluations as below.

“These evaluations must be completed by teachers in different academic subjects
who know you well”.

For some reason, my D can’t get two in different academic subjects.
If we get 2 in same academic subjects like English and 2nd language(German or French or Spanish), is it a kind of disadvantage to admissions ?

Thx

Anytime someone does not follow the adcoms’ specific directions, it is a real disadvantage. (You might want to really encourage her to fine a math or science recommmendation to balance the language arts rec.)

I think English and German (or French or Spanish) are different academic subjects.

Of course they are, however, an English rec and a language rec might not give the optimum broader picture of the student’s talents.

If a math/sci rec would be ambivalent or negative, then best to stick with Eng & lang.

and I understand recs should be from teachers from Junior or senior year, correct? How much of a problem is it to use a teacher from Sophomore year who probably knows dd better than a senior year teacher?

My daughter had a rec from a sophomore year teacher. She is now at Harvard, so I’d assume it was fine.

English is certainly a different subject from German, especially if only one of those languages is your child’s native language.

If I were to get one of my teacher evaluations from my French Teacher and another from the Debate Coach would the Debate Coach’s letter of recommendation count as another academic subject? (I have taken the Debate Class as well) And if the Debate Coach’s letter would not fulfill the requirement of 2nd academic subject I am able to use it as a supplemental recommendation, correct?
