Just wondering if anyone knows how long the security screening time is for Austin Bergstrom on a Monday morning (Around 5:20 A.M.)?

I think it took me about 15 minutes that time of day when I went through in January. The line looked long, but it moved quickly.

MaineLonghorn is correct. we just few at that time in the AM , the airport was packed. It took about 20 minutes to check in and about 15 to 20 in line for screening.

iambored10, the above posts are accurate for “regular” days. If you are talking about any days associated with UT Spring Break travel (which is also Spring Break week for most public school districts in Austin plus SXSW), I suggest you add 15 minutes to the screening time to be safe, i.e., I’d make it 30 min. You know how to save time on the rest…check-in at home and print your boarding pass (or have it ready on your mobile device–be sure it is cued up on screen before you enter the terminal, as there is no free wifi at Bergstrom and the cell reception can be iffy), and if possible, don’t check luggage–or use the curbside drop or inside kiosk.

If you have to park a car during your trip, please note that the airport long-term surface parking is under construction in part. The section nearest the terminal was closed as of this past Thursday-Sunday. Also, it seems like they’ve cut back on the number of shuttles. Bottom line, you will park farther away, so it takes longer to walk to the terminal in the event you don’t find a shuttle fast enough to suit you. Hopefully, you can get dropped off to eliminate that chunk of time and the cost of parking!

Have a great trip.

Lol thanks for the advice guys, but I have an interview in El Paso (flying from ATX) and the Airport flyer only starts running at 4:54 A.M. and arrives at Bergstrom at 5:20 A.M… My flights at 6:00 A.M. so I’m just trying to debate whether or not to take a cab.

You have to get there earlier than 5:20.

Take a cab. It’ll cost $30 if you are coming from West Campus, just fyi.
