just wondering if some current students could give me an average schedule…not just classes, but everything one would do on a weekday including studying, exercise, jobs, hanging out, etc. I want to work at Starbucks one day a week so I’m trying to decide what time. I also will be playing rugby tho, so I could either work wednesday afternoon from 1-5, immediately after class and right before practice or on tuesday night from 6-10. There’s probably not a lot to do on a weeknight anyway, but would it still be a good idea to keep my nights more open? Sorry if this post is kinda confusin, but basically I just wanna know what people do to fill in their time between class during the week.

well my schedule is mon and fri 8-10 and 2-3, tues and thurs 9:30-11 and 12:30-2, and wed 8-1 and 2-4. mon im taking a yoga class, and every once in a while me and my friends will go out to dinner on weeknights or go shopping or get pedicures. i love having my nights open, especially cuz im living with my 2 best friends and have a bf. when you have your independence from your parents and can do what u want, u take advantage. i also go to the hockey games every friday and may go to concerts or on dates during the week. one tuesday night wont kill you, and scrunching work in like that will make u miserable. just make sure u hit the dining hall at 5 every tues and fill urself up, or order a large pizza from dominoes for when u get back

You have lots of time if you do your class work instead of listening to music and lying around (or if you don’t do it at all). Weeknights can be busy, depending on your interests; clubs and things like that meet at night.

Are you counting on working at Starbucks? I’m asking because there are many thousands of kids working part-time jobs around Boston and coffee places get swamped with applicants.

i already work at a starbucks in NJ so I’m guaranteed a transfer to a boston store if i want

I remember first semester freshman year to be pretty overwhelming. Between going to class, studying, reading, making new friends and just plain getting used to be not living at home, it was too much for me to go out and find a job. I got a job second semester and was able to accomodate working 10 hours a week into my schedule.

However, if you can easily transfer to a Starbucks in Boston and work 1 night a week, I would try it out. 4 hours isn’t going to kill you. I wouldn’t try to squish it in between class and practice, especially if you aren’t working at a starbucks on campus.
