Typical Mudder Personality

I had some questions, just out of curiosity, regarding the personality type of a typical Harvey-Mudd student. I have heard that these students are the nicest you could meet, but I was wondering what exactly made them so venerable. Here are a few questions I had:

-What is the Mudder archetype? Are there any stereotypes that tend to hold true about the typical Mudder?
-What kinds of interests do Mudders have? Are they all related to academics, or do the students pursue other things?
-Why did the admission committee find these particular students appealing out of the whole pool of applicants?
-What is a typical Mudder’s most salient quality?
-What do Mudders do in their free time (assuming they have some)?

I was just curious, so I thought I’d ask. The students from Harvey-Mudd sound quite interesting in a whimsical way. I know that all Mudders are special and different, but there must be some characteristics that they all share.

-It’s hard to characterize the typical Mudder - I’d say we’re pretty diverse. That said, we’re all pretty smart and found high school pretty easy.

 • Mudders have all kinds of interests. I have friends who volunteer, participate in ballroom dance, play sports / an instrument, etc.
 • For questions 3-5, it’s impossible to generalize. I enjoy hanging out with friends and playing/listening to music in my spare time, but that’s by no means representative of everyone.
