My choice of colleges: Gatech, UW Madison, Virginia Tech, U of Washington, NYU, UIUC

Stream: Computer Science
Nationality: Indian
GPA- 3.6 (On a scale of 4)

SAT 1- Score yet to come. Expecting between 1950-2000. CR didn’t go to well. Expecting around 550-600 there.

Due to some reasons, I have to make that decision before my score comes out. I can just take one more SAT, that is on the 26th of January.I have two choices

Choice I- Take SAT 1 again and try to get something around 2050-2100
Choice II- Take SAT II tests of MATHS 1, MATHS 2 AND PHYSICS…quite sore of getting 2250+

What shall I do? All those universities do not need SAT II. I just think that good SAT II scores will make a nice impression. What’s your say?

Decide using the following additonal info: UIUC, VTech, UWash, and UWisconsin do not consider subject tests even if you submit them. Moreover, the Jan test is too late for UIUC and UWash. Gtech does not require subject tests and gives them only minor consideration if submitted. NYU allows you to meet test requirement by submitting SAT or in lieu thereof three subject tests one of which must be literature or humanities, one math or science, and a third of your choice, and you are not suggesting taking a literature or humanities which means none that you would submit will be considered.

Okay…But are you sure that Gatech gives minor consideration to SAT Subject scores and UW Madison gives none…I mean SAT II scores like 2300 can be impressive…can’t they?

For UWisc see <a href=“Page Not Found - Office of Admissions and Recruitment Knowledgebase”>https://kb.wisc.edu/admissions/page.php?id=25921. They will not be considered including because those who actually make decisions will not be provided any subject test scores even if you submit them. As to Gtech this will be the first year that it has gone into the “consider” category for subject tests if you submit them (previously it ignored them) and your SAT score is far more important.
