I have a problem in typing my name. My full name consists of 4 names. My name is [edited to name - se]
How I will put this name into the three sections of First, Middle and last name.
Please, note that my name should be exactly as it appears on my passport so, I can’t eliminate any name of them.
It really depends.
If the last 2 names are both family names (e.g. one is the mother’s and one is the father’s) include both under last name. If only the last is the family name, list 2 under first name and one under middle name or 1 under first name and 2 under middle name.
If a form limits the number of characters, you’ll need to truncate. But don’t worry, it’s a common issue, and everyone will be able to figure it out.
In the common app, you could put a comment in the Additional Information section clarifying what you did and your full legal name. I would try to register for standardized tests the same way you do in the Common App.
Also, you could put two parts in one box with a space between. I’d assume that is what people with a two part last name do. For example, a name might be “Mary Jane Van Buren”. “Van Buren” would go in the last name box.
