Regarding the 4.13-4.40 HS GPA range, UGA calculates HS GPA as described at Calculating a UGA GPA - UGA Undergraduate Admissions .

UGA Admissions Blog and David Graves are fantastic. I recommend the blog regularly, even to those not applying to UGA, as David Graves covers a lot of general admissions questions that would apply to many schools. His transparent and clear explanations of the UGA admissions process are phenomenal.
