I just had a question for all you CC members; Is Brown or Columbia harder to get into?

I know that Columbia is a second tier ivy league but whenever I input my test scores and grades into one of those many “chance me” websites, the probability of me getting into Columbia is dramatically higher. And Columbia’s acceptance rate for ED is also a bit higher than Browns.

they are pretty different schools with different focuses in choosing their classes… i would say they are pretty much the same though in selectivity

I’ve always had the impression that Columbia is more difficult to get into (in terms of acceptance rates). But then again, it depends on your main focus - liberal arts (more Brown) or research-based (more Columbia).
