“I thought all engineers have to live on north campus?”

Not at all. In fact, North Campus does not have sufficient space to house all 5,000 undergraduate Engineers.

“Isn’t that cause all the courses are there?”

Again, not quite accurate. Engineers spend most of their first year on Central campus, completing their Chemistry, Computer Science/Mathematics and Physics requirements. They take a few required classes (half a year’s worth) in the Humanities and Social Sciences on Central campus between their sophomore and senior years. Altogether, roughly 15%-30% (depending on AP credits received upon entering the University) of the classes Engineers take are on Central.

For example, Engineerings must complete Mathematics 115, 116, 215, 216. Those four courses are taught in Central campus. Engineers must also take two Chemistry and two Physics classes on Central campus. Finally, Engineers are required to take 16 credit hours (4-6 courses) of Humanities and Social Sciences on Central campus. In total, we are looking at 12-14 courses on Central campus.
