U of Arizona, need some comments..

dstark, It is true they are different and the MS in financial mathematics is way more mathematics and conputational intensive. I think maybe it is more valuable just to me than MS in Finance, 'cause I don’t have many work experiencs.

I would talk to NC State and see where people who graduate from that math program end up. My gut says that degree will open up more doors. There just aren’t that many people who have the ability to get that degree.

“Its a freakin desert! Im not much of a desert fan.”

When it does hit 100+ over the summer, it is all dry heat, no humidity whatsoever. If you go to cali over the summer and they hit high temperatures, it’s definitely a much worse situation than a dry heat.

Have you even visited arizona? I cant even describe the amazing scenery and beautiful splendor. We have one of the world’s natural 7 wonders…can any other state say that?

Arizona is so underrepresented it’s not even funny, and it’s getting rather tiring. Come to Scottsdale, or Phoenix, or Tempe, or Flagstaff, or Prescott and realize it is not just desert shrubs and scattered tumbleweeds. There is history here: Native American, geological, ecological, cultural etc. Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Meteor Crater, Montezuma Castle, Route 66, and more. And now tell me that the desert is such a ‘terrible’ place.

And my rant is done.

Hey Guyz
I am little bit cofussed with Suze’s comment. As she said it so hard even for harvard kids to get a job in mega banks like gp morgan or citi banks, but I saw these names and also HSBC, Bank of America in the list of SUNY Buffalo’s “Companies who frequently hire graduates” list. Obviously these companies will not hire some Front Desk Officer or PA from Buffalo, So…still i am quite hopeful to get a job in these banks after graduation in Finance or Accounting.
Oh… Another question,Do u guyz really think American companies specially these banks and other large business firms are reluctant to give jobs to international students specially muslims?

I just spent part of my spring break in Tucson for my brother who will be at UofA next year, and it is an absolutely fantastic college town. I may even consider looking for jobs there after I graduate next fall.

This was my 2nd time in Tucson in 2 year, and both times have been just great. Sure it’s very desert like, but the actual places that people live in are extremely nice - ‘desert like’ only in the fact that it’s hot in the summer.

I’m rather jealous that he’ll be spending 4 years there.

plz do reply

Thanks

…

U of A…

I just visited the campus last month, and I didn’t like it all that much. It was okay.

I think Tucson is pretty boring. There is a big drug scene in Tucson, and I can see why. I think I’d be shooting up if I lived there as well.

Then again, I do not pretend to make my personal opinions reality. Many people love Tucson and the U of A, and their opinions hold equal weight to mine, even more.

FFarham, u can defiantely land a job in Citibank and other major banks. These banks hire tons of employees every year as they are cosntantly in the need for employees (their the largest banks of the world catoring to a growing amount of clients every year). You dont need to be a Harvard grad to get a good job at citibank. My dad graduated from American University and got a job with Citibank (he studied accounting). He then went on to work with Verizon. Top companies dont only want Harvard grads. However You need good grades. Look UA and NC State have both very good biz schools. I would not worry about getting a job. Wat I would worry about as I read comments from both of those schools is that most of the recruiters on campus are from their respective states. so You will have a high chance of working in Arizona if u graduate from UA. Its fine if u like it, but if u dont like it, then it might be troublesome as u might have to apply to jobs on ur own.
