U of Louisville Punished By NCAA

The NCAA is again showing its teeth regarding a prominent athletic department. Louisville will have to vacate several basketball victories and Coach Rick Pitino will endure a suspension for the start of the conference schedule, which is a big deal in the ACC. I admire Pitino as a coach but he brought this upon himself. A relative of mine played D-1 college basketball and he tells me that nearly everyone in the program knows whom is involved with sexual shenanigans with whom as regards the team. All that testosterone likes to brag. The punishment for Pitino should serve as a warning to other coaches and college administrators who run loose programs with few rules. Louisville could become the first school forced to vacate a national championship. Louisville, Baylor etc. this nonsense has to stop!

I think Pitino is responsible, and so is the AD. My dislike of Louisville sports goes back a few years to the women’s lax coach abandoning some players at out of town games, punishing them in airports by making them do push ups, etc. The team is always on the edge of success but never makes it to the next level, and it seems like they are trying to get there by being bullies, not through skill. Parents filed complaints, but she’s still the coach there. Last year the football coach pulled scholarship offers from high school football players at the last minute (like the day before signing). Very unfair to the kids.

Louisville just doesn’t seem like an honorable sports program and that goes back to the AD.

Was it Louisville where the women’s’ volleyball coach was sued by team-members for mistreatment, including intimidating a married and pregnant player?
