A lot of people are saying I shouldn’t take this class because I’m not majoring in it. Do you guys agree with that? I feel that it would affect my rank a lot since I’m currently freshman and have perfect grades(just like 3 others in my grade)

Why should AP History affect your rank? I mean, at the end of HS, the valec will be the one whose taken the most AP’s and excelled at them. In my school, a person that has a spotless GPA without any AP’s is probably ranked below 15. You should definitely challenge yourself, and APUSH really isn’t all that challenging.

Yeah i meant like it would affect my rank if i didn’t take it, but yeah i feel like i should challenge myself too thanks
but im still open to other’s opinions

Ahh, I didn’t understand the context. And yes it definitely will affect your rank. That three square position is what I’m currently going through. It’s amazing how people who’ve taken many different classes with varying difficulties end up having the same exact GPA! Well best of luck! Definitely go for APUSH, it’s a pretty interesting class.

yup thanks :)

oh and what’s the three square position?

It will actually help you on your rank. Look the course is really easy , just read the chapters several times from the textbook and you will get an A.

Source: experience, have an A in APUSH and it’s fun

lol im not really worried about getting an A but th extreme competitiveness that i kno people will be getting A+s is what im worried about. Just to give you a more clear picture, our school has block scheduling. So 4 classes half the year and 4 other classes the second half. For us, Ap us history is divided into two years, sophomore and junior. In sophomore year(next year), I will have it in the spring semester, along with pre-calc honors, physics honors, and possibly chinese 2 honors/ gym / english honors. Will I be able to get an A+? so far freshman year, Ive gotten straight A+s but I don’t know how difficult that will get spring next year. There’s cut-throat competition at my school with like 3 other kids getting straight A+s and a dozen other kids who missed out on 1 A+. What do u guys think?

We don’t know how hard your work or how hard your teacher makes the class (some AP teachers make their class unnecessarily hard). The best thing to do would be to ask seniors at your school who have finished the class. I’m taking 4 AP’s now and APUSH is very manageable. If you’re a hard worker, you should do fine.
