U.S. History Retake

I just got a 690 on the June SAT II U.S. History and I’m deciding whether I should retake it or not. My goal was a 700, but it seems to me that a 700 looks so much better than a 690 for some reason, although the difference is a mere 10 points. If I do decide to retake it however, I want to achieve a 750+. Having said that, do you think the Kaplan SAT book is sufficient; I’ve heard it’s pretty good. Or do you think I need AMSCO? I might not be able to get AMSCO b/c I’m spending my summer break in Korea. Thanks ahead of time!

P.S. I’m looking at ives and other top tier schools.

I have the AMSCO book and the Kaplan. The Kaplan seems like it has a bit more tid bits of information. You could get an 800 with either one. The AMSCO has one practice test (i think?) but the Kaplan has multiple.

Definitely retake. I would recommend either AMSCO, Crash Course, or Spark Notes.

Thanks…what is a better history review: Kaplan or AMSCO?

If you know your history well enogh, I don’t think it’s necessary to go through all of AMSCO just for the retake. All I used was Kaplan + a quick read through of Crash Course and managed an 800.

Crash Course = Best.
