U.S. History w/out APUSH?

I’m trying to decide whether to take a third SAT-II, and if so, which one. I don’t plan to apply to any of the schools that require 3, but my parents think I should have 3 just to be safe.

Since I’m a humanities gal, I’ve taken the Real SATs practice tests in World History and U.S. History. Scored 650 in World, 680 in U.S.–and U.S. seems easier to study for, as well as requiring me to improve by fewer questions to get to 750+. I’m not taking APUSH and my honors class started pre-Civil War, so I’d have to catch up on everything before that (assuming that we cover through modern history by June).

Will the large number of APUSH test takers skew the curve to my disfavor? Is it worth intensive studying for the U.S. History SAT II? I would do it all essentially in one month, starting after APs.

It has a very generous curve (-9=800), so if you are willing to put in the work I would say go for it!
Of course I may be biased (APUSH + History Student of the Year), but I really think that if you care enough and work hard enough you can do it!
Plus (like you said), SATUSH is much easier to study for, as compared to SATWH.

And I agree with your parents, its always nice to have three just incase your plans change.

Hopefully that helped, good luck! :)
