D25 got WL but given the oppty to do Gamecock Verto Study abroad program for 1st semester. Anyone familiar with it?
Son got in if he does the fall semester abroad. He is a business major. Not sure if this means he has a spot in business? Considering thisā¦. Anyone else?
S25 accepted. OOS for Aerospace Engineering. he was deferred EA.

Same - D25 waitlisted, but offered overseas program with guarantee of Spring ā26 admission.
Our Daughter got the same. I looked and unfortunately the Darla School of business is not an option for this program.
Son was accepted to the Sport & Entertainment Management program after being deferred EA. OOS, Massachusetts.

Does anyone know how waitlist exactly works? You stay on it until Mid May and if you donāt hear by then, you arenāt admitted? Is there ever a final denial? Trying to figure out what to do with her very distant number 2 school.
Little confused about everything too. But this is what Iām hearing after some research from last year: Waitlist acceptances started coming out late march all the way up until mid may. From what Iāve seen nobody ever got an actual denial letter, just never got off the waitlist.

Waitlist with option of study abroad for fall
The common data set from the website shows that only 15 made it off the wait list and accepted in fall 2023ā¦ 7200 had been offered a spot on the wait list. Not sure what fall 2024 isā¦
My dd accepted but for undeclared. She is OOS and was deferred in December. Did not have the admitted tab this morning, so I guess that didnāt work

I find it a tad hard to believe that only 15 were accepted. Just from the waitlist thread on this site last year there was around 10-15. Maybe youāre right and every single one of them uses this website, but who knows.

Last year my older son was waitlisted and found out at the end of April that he was accepted. However, he was only give 3 days to accept. He decided not to accept the offer.

The common data set shows that 15 students were admitted. The thing that people donāt realize is that they are not going to āadmitā you off the wait list until they call you and ask you if you want to come, and once you say yes, THEN they offer official admission. Because they donāt want to mess up their yield numbers by offering a bunch of spots to kids who arenāt going to take it. For example, they couldāve called 100 kids and 85 of them had already decided to go somewhere else and then they found 15 that wanted to switch to USC and those were admitted. The other 85 were not considered to be offered admission.
